Museums

Housed in architecturally valuable and protected facilities, museums of southeast Serbia represent the treasury of memories of past life, from prehistory, through the Romans, Middle Ages, rebellions and wars, to this day. Portraits of Empress Theodora and the Emperor Constantine, valuable collections of old weapons, a unique museum of double-woven wool socks, mosaics from Felix Romuliana, beautiful ornaments and patterns of Pirot carpets, legacies of famous artists...
Archaeological, ethnological, historical, and geological collections, art works, exhibits, and much of the world's cultural heritage can be seen in each of the nine municipalities of southeast Serbia.
