Archaeological sites

Various nations have always passed through southeast Serbia. Many of them destroyed and burned it, and some built by their fortifications, palaces, cities and hamams, near clean rivers, fertile plains, gentle slopes... Today, these are the places to which people come for history lessons. Many archaeological sites are unique worldwide. Felix Romuliana, the Imperial Palace, is on the UNESCO's list of world cultural heritage, the Empress Town is considered one of the most important and largest towns of the Byzantine Balkans, and Timacum minus the oldest military fortification in the Timok area.
