Caves and pits

Pećine i jameThe caves and pits in Southeast Serbia have rich variety of cave ornaments and interesting specimens of fauna under state protection.
They are particularly attractive for speleologists and insufficiently researched.
Most famous caves are: Bogovinska Cave (one of the longest caves in Serbia, 12 km away from Boljevac,), Prekonoška (5 km away from Svrljig, with discovered traces of Paleolithic man), Sesalačka (19 km away from Sokobanja) Ozrenska Cave (6 km away from Sokobanja, with traces of Neolithic man), Zlotska (near Bor) Petrlaška (15 km away from Dimitrovgrad), Velika (7 km away from Pirot), Vladikine Ploče Cave (Pirot), Cerjanska (14 km away from Niš).
